Dental
& Vision Care Benefits Changes
All
Retirees from outside construction, shop employment and the "Officer's
Plan" who meet the Retiree eligibility requirements for hospital
and medical benefits are eligible for dental benefits effective
January 1, 2001. In other words, all Retirees who were covered by
GHI on December 1, 1998 and all Retirees with pension effective
dates on and after January 1,1999 who otherwise qualify for hospital
and medical benefits are also be eligible for dental benefits in
addition to the group of Retirees currently eligible for dental
benefits.
The
annual dental deductible for Retirees has increased from $50 to
$100 effective January 1, 2001. The annual deductible for Retirees

deductible for Active employees remains unchanged.
The
annual benefit maximum for Active employees has increased from $1,500
to $2,500 effective January 1, 2001. The annual maximum for Retirees
remains unchanged. The schedule amounts for covered dental procedures
increased effective January 1, 2001. These increases to the schedule
amounts will result in a larger panel of participating dentists.
